I am born in Tyumen, a bustling historic town in Siberia, a center of the petrochemical industry and foreign trade in Russia. Fascinated by far-off countries and cultures, I moved to Odessa (Southern Ukraine) where I obtained my Master degree in Spanish Language and Literature and a State Certificate in Military Nursing. Afterwards, I settled in Flanders (Belgium) where I studied Dutch at various language schools in higher and adult education in Ghent, Leuven and Kortrijk.
After my graduation, I gained versatile work experience at Intourist, the only official travel agency in the former Soviet Union, at the Tyumen Research Institute for Oil and Gas Pipelines and at a Belgian trade company specializing in the food export to Russia and other CIS countries.
Since 1999, I have been working as a self-employed interpreter and translator providing made to measure (certified) translations from Dutch, Russian, Ukrainian and Spanish into Russian and Dutch. My specialization is consecutive interpreting at meetings and negotiations and translating of texts of both a general and specialized content. In 2011, I accompanied the Belgian Princely Mission to Russia.
“Although the topic of the negotiation was very technical, about a niche product, a prompt dialogue became possible thanks to a quick and accurate translation.”
Marnix Soubry, Sales Manager at Decomo nv, Moeskroen, Belgium
“Lidia was eager to get used to the corporate culture and technical aspects of the company. She did not only perform her job of interpreter, strictly speaking, but translated the content correctly and to the point. With Lidia’s help, the plant in Lipetsk was started up successfully.”
Koen Gregoire, Managing Director at Bekaert Aalter, Belgium
“Our business texts from Dutch into Russian have been always carefully translated by Lidia, within the strict deadlines. Thanks to her help, we can successfully develop our business in Russia.”
